Away from the pandemic, a glance at the world of books, films and TV…
Cultural Month – May 2021:Recentism is a real thing and, with the sun now shining, it’s hard to remember just what a wet month May was. Until the very end, that is, when summer arrived, working from home looked suddenly more attractive again and the sale of BBQ equipment soared. Still, in the midst of May, with the rain bouncing a foot off the paving, the rivers swollen and the drains backing up, there was plenty to do indoors. HERE are a few highlights from May where we’re considering: • Books – The Executioners, The Honest Truth about Dishonesty, The Crowd • Films – Eurovision (Will Ferrell), Sixth Sense • Other – Once upon a time in Iraq, Sherlock and the chance catch a few beers out of the rain There are links to earlier months on the website. All the best with the continued path reopening & suggestions as to what to read, watch, eat & drink always welcome! |
