The group currently operates 118 sites globally. Novus Leisure has told the MCA that it plans to roll out its pizza and craft beer concept, Tank & Paddle, following the success of its first site in London’s Mincing Lane. A second site is to be opened in Bishopsgate later this year and third lined up for the west end. AB InBev has applied to trademark the name Uproot Brewing, as the group sets to launch a new brand. Vapiano steps up its regional expansions with a new site opening in Edinburgh this autumn, the MCA has reported. The Edinburgh site will have 290 covers and span three floors. The digital platform for pubs and bars, useyourlocal.com has teamed up with the Worthington’s Darts Champion of Champions 2017 competition in a bid to promote local pubs and clubs hosting heats during June and July. Darts is the ultimate pub sport, so we’re happy to be partnering with this great competition and bringing it to a wider audience.’ Pizza Addomme has won the third annual London Pizza Festival, beating five other contestants including Radio Alice and Made of Dough. Pizza Addomme currently operates one site at Streatham Hill. HOLIDAYS, LEISURE TRAVEL & HOTEL Ryanair has established a five-point plan to grow European tourism by 10% and says that low-fare flights are a key driver of regional tourism and job creation. The five points include lowering airport costs and removing taxes on short-haul flights within Europe, addressing the accommodation shortage by lowering costs and building more hotels, and developing new regional resorts. A US federal appeals court has ruled in favour of the block on Trump’s travel ban, after finding that the revised ban violated constitutional rights. The court said the president’s powers on immigration ‘were not absolute’ and that the ban was ‘intended to bar Muslims from this country’. A drunken airline passenger has had his jail sentence more than doubled to nine and a half years for starting a fire at 33,000ft by discarding a burning cigarette end. Former soldier John Cox, 46, threw the cigarette butt in a toilet bin when on a Monarch flight from Birmingham to Sharm el-Sheikh in August 2015.
