Chopstix Group has acquired competitor Chozen Noodle’s 27 sites for an undisclosed sum. Chopstix says it will build on its existing presence in motorway service stations. The enlarged group now has 127 sites… Costa Coffee has been voted the UK’s favourite coffee shop for the 13th consecutive year. Costa is the largest chain in the UK with around 2,700 stores. Cotti Coffee, which was only launched in October 2022 by former Luckin Coffee executives Charles Lu and Jenny Qian, has signed up some 1,300 stores across 181 Chinese cities over the last five months. The dash included one three-day period in which some 80 stores were opened. HOLIDAYS & LEISURE TRAVEL: Airports organisation ACI Europe maintains that Europe’s airports should be ready to “cope with demand” this summer. It says that capacity caps should be the exception… Silverdoor, which specialises in bookings for serviced apartments, has said that rates in EMEA this year are running up 15% on the same period in 2022… The BBC reports that the ‘construction of certain sections of HS2 will be delayed in an attempt to cut costs.’ That is unlikely to come as a shock to many observers. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors yesterday reported that the UK housing market remains in decline but it says that the number of agents seeing falling prices was down on its last survey.
